Silver Lake
Originally founded as Fremont and later named for the lake it borders, Silver Lake is a small-town dream.
Redevelopments downtown and a strong sense of community make Silver Lake a great place for local businesses to thrive. Between the ample fishing, great schools, and countless community sponsored events, there is something for everyone in this town.
Dorothy Butler is proud to call Silver Lake her hometown and is proud to help other families find their homes here.

This cute little town hosts many fun activities throughout the whole year! During the spring and summer, kids and adults gather at the Bruce Maresh Aquatec center. Families and friends enjoy tennis, softball, horseshoes and basketball or ride bike along the Luce Line Trail. The first part of August the whole town comes out to celebrate Pola-Czesky Days! In the winter months, we are home to the Sportsman Club Turtle Soup feed, horse drawn rides, a golf tournament on the ice, Lions Brunch, Knights of Columbus Fish Fry and our St. Patrick’s Day Parade! For a small community, we make it a priority to have fun and enjoy each other’s company!
Silver Lake has great shops that provide a unique shopping experience.
• The Corner Market (Cenex) on Highway 7 has all quick necessities including Hot Stuff Pizza. They sell a nice variety of grilling foods and table snacks. I’m partial to the Schroeder Meats, especially the wild rice brats!
• The Dollar General also located on Highway 7 has everything and anything else you may not find at the Corner Market! It has been a great benefit to have something so close to our quaint little town.
• Molly’s Café is your local spot for hometown cooking with a nice, warm atmosphere! They have a good variety of menu items and are known for their Molly Melt. They are easy to get to as they are right off Highway 7 and the Luce Line Trail. In fact, some diners who frequently rode their bikes on the trail and stopped for a bite to eat found it to be their special place, and even got engaged there!
• Silver Lake Legion Post 141 is located at 241 Main St W and provides a wide variety of great food; everything from chicken drummies to sirloin steaks. They also have weekly live entertainment, every Saturday night.
• Silver Lake Municipal Liquor Store serves up a mean pizza at a very reasonable price! Chicken Alfredo is the best!
